Silverdale Medical is proud to be an approved provider of Immigration Medical services for New Zealand visas. We offer comprehensive, efficient, and convenient medical assessments for all age groups.  Patients of the practice should not be assessed by doctors who have been or continue to be involved in their care.  It is expected to be an independent assessment service.

Our Services

Immigration Medical Exams

For individuals applying for a New Zealand visa, we provide a complete range of immigration medical services.

You cannot book your immigration medical with your own doctor, or a doctor of the practice who has treated in the past.

Professional interpretation services are provided at an additional cost. You can not use friends of family members for language interpretation.  We have doctors who provide direct services in English, Korean, Bahasa Malaysia, Hokkien, Hakka, Mandarin, and Cantonese.  Please specify language needs when speaking to the administrator in advance of arrival.

All services must be paid in full in advance.  Failure to attend a booked appointment has a Did Not Arrive Charge equal to the consult charges.

What to Expect:

First Visit:

    1. Pay in Full for the Immigration Medical Service including lab fee and x-ray.
    2. Pre-Exam Administration:
        ◦ Meet with our Immigration Administrator for the pre-exam, identification verification, photograph, and complete history to prepare for the doctor’s visit.
        ◦ Please bring your valid passport and any relevant communication from Immigration NZ.
    3. Blood Tests and X-Rays:
        ◦ Persons over the age of 15 years will need a blood test.
        ◦ Persons over the age of 11 years will need a chest X-ray.
        ◦ Both tests can usually be completed onsite usually during your first visit.
        ◦ After completing the pre-exam, you will be referred for the chest X-ray if needed.

Second Visit (3 -7 days later):

    4. Physical Examination:
        ◦ Once your blood test and X-ray results are returned and available, book a follow-up appointment with our Immigration Panel Doctor for the physical examination. Usually this is 5-7 days after completing the last test.
        ◦ During this visit, the doctor will review your test results and conduct the physical exam.
    5. Completion and Submission:
        ◦ After the physical exam, our Panel Doctor will complete and submit your Immigration Medical documents online. You can request a copy of the report.

Pricing

All the following prices are for the initial submission, if immigration upon receiving the report requires additional assessment – further charges may apply. Urine is also tested at our clinic.  If the urine is persistently abnormal, the sample may be sent to the laboratory for a formal report (at patient’s cost).

    • 11-65 years: $675
        ◦ Includes:   30 Min Admin Consult, 30 Min Doctor consult, Blood test, X-ray
    • 65+ years: $700
        ◦ Includes: 30 Min Admin Consult, 30 Min Doctor consult, Blood test, X-ray

Limited Immigration Medicals:

    • 0-10 years: $135.00
        ◦ Includes: 15 Min Admin Consult 15 min Doctor consult
        ◦ Excludes: Blood test, X-ray
    • 11-65 years: $575
        ◦ Includes:   30 Min Admin Consult, 15 Min Doctor consult, Blood test, X-ray
    • 65+ years: $600
        ◦ Includes: 30 Min Admin Consult, 30 Min Doctor consult, Blood test, X-ray

Add-On Immigration Medical Requests:

    • 0-14 years: $135.00
        ◦ Includes: 15 Min Admin Consult, 15 min Doctor consult
Excludes: Blood test, specialist visit
    • 15-69 years: $160.00
        ◦ Includes: 15 Min Admin Consult, 15 min Doctor consult

    • 70+ years: $160.00

Immigration Extra Referral Requests:

    • All ages: $105.00
        ◦ Includes: Doctor referral preparation, sending, and review
        ◦ Excludes: Blood test, specialist consultation visit

Immigration X-Ray Only Requests:

    • All ages: $175.00
        ◦ Includes: 15 Min Administrator consult and X-Ray.

Additional Information

    • Assistance with Immigration NZ Requirements: If you need help understanding what Immigration NZ requires or interpreting their communications, our administrator can assist for a small fee.
    • Accompanied Minors: Individuals under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for their appointment.
    • Returning Patients: If you have recently had an Immigration Medical at another practice, it may be more cost-effective to return there for additional requests.
