After spending her childhood years in New Plymouth, Joanna undertook her high schooling in The Netherlands and Malaysia, before returning to New Zealand to study medicine at the University of Auckland. She graduated in 2015 and moved back to New Plymouth where she spent 4 years working in numerous medical specialties at Taranaki Base Hospital. During this time Joanna decided to move into General Practice as it would allow her to develop more long-term relationships with her patients and help them with a broad range of health issues. Joanna returned to Auckland to undertake her GP training and has now joined the team at Silverdale Medical, where she is enjoying all aspects of General Practice. When she's not working, Joanna enjoys gardening, music, crafts, and spending time with her family.
