Chrisy came to Whangaparaoa in the early 70's, attending Whangaparaoa Primary School and Orewa College. Most of the Peninsula was still paddocks then, with the nights so dark she had to leave a torch shining on the beach to navigate her way back from fishing, and the Tiri lighthouse swept its brilliant beam across the night sky.

Training at Auckland Technical Institute, Chrisy became a registered nurse at aged 19, then her OE called and she spent a decade traveling the world; rafting the Congo, climbing the Himalayas and horse riding the Oregon Trail. Overseas she worked as a nurse in Cairns, Perth, London and Germany.

On returning to NZ, Chrisy specialised in Emergency Nursing and has spent 20 years working in Auckland's busy Emergency Departments (EDs). In 2016, she completed her Master of Nursing and qualified as a Nurse Practitioner (NP), becoming the first NP to work in the North Shore Hospital ED. Chrisy is also a member of New Zealand Medical Assistance Team (NZMAT) and was deployed to Samoa to assist in the Measles Epidemic and to Nui to assist in setting up their COVID response.

In 2022 Chrisy joined Silverdale Medical working in Urgent Care and the Viral Assessment Clinic. She enjoys being of service to the local community and enabling people to recover.
